FAQ`s (Frequently Asked Questions)

  1. Q. I want to start a Junior Football Club in my village, what can RCA do to help me?
    A. We can help you write a Constitution for the club, organise a Committee Meeting to elect officers, and signpost you to funding opportunities from such organisations as The Sports Council for Wales and Monmouthshire County Council
  2. Q. We have a new Club Treasurer, but he/she would like some training on how to prepare our annual accounts, can you help?
    A. We can organise training either by one of our Development Workers, or through one of our many partners, such as the Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations.

    A. The maximum RCA grant is £2,500
  4. Q. How are you different from GAVO?
    A. We work in partnership with GAVO, and offer similar services.
  5. Q. Will you fill in the forms for any grants that we can apply for?
    A. Not usually. Our aim is to help groups develop their abilities, including the art of grant form filling. So we will give you some pointers, let you prepare a draft, then give you feedback on it for you to prepare the final version.
  6. Q. Can we apply for further funding from the RCA Project Support and Development Fund?
    A. Yes, as long as it’s for a different elements of a project or in another financial year. However, you will not be able to bid year after year
  7. Q. Do we need match funding?
    A. We do not require match funding for the RCA Project Support and Development Fund, but our grants can sometimes match fund others that do e.g. Lottery.
  8. Q. Can we make a profit from our event?
    A. Yes, RCA expects annual events to make a surplus for use in staging next year’s event.
  9. Q. What do you mean by partnership building and signposting?
    A. RCA can often introduce you to people who may be able to help you in some way, or work together for mutual benefit. Many funding bodies expect groups to be working in partnership.
  10. Q. Can you fund a laptop computer for my community group?
    A. RCA usually only fund revenue costs for community projects, but if the laptop is an integral part of the whole project, we may be able to fund the costs.
